Dr. Keith Payton

Dr. Payton was born in Ithaca, NY as one of five brothers who grew up with a wrestling mat in their living room and family horseback riding trips on weekends. Much to his parent's surprise, with all his brothers in tree-work and roofing, he loved working with our furry friends and graduated from Cornell Veterinary College in 1988. Dr. Payton is happy working with canine and feline medicine and surgery. He enjoys canine reproductive work, has a special interest in eye problems, and does most of the orthopedic surgery in the practice. He married his wife and partner, Stephanie Todd, in 2001 and they have a son Erik and a daughter named Katrina. Dr. Payton is also the proud father of Emily, who is attending Bard College. He loves computer (games!), snow-shoeing, horseback riding, and spending time out on his tractor with his headset on.

Dr. Heather Burrowes

Dr. Burrowes joined the Harmony team in 2014. She grew up on eastern Long Island but has been an upstate New York transplant for many years! She received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Geneseo in 2008 and her DVM from Cornell University in 2012. Her areas of special interest include canine behavior, exotic small mammals (rabbits, ferrets etc.), palliative care and pain management. She also has a strong interest in working and competition dogs. Dr. Burrowes is heavily involved in the local dog sports community and her passion outside work is competition obedience. She shares her life with two rabbits (Riesling and Hazel), a distinguished older Beagle named Cedar (a professional couch potato who earned his Canine Good Citizen award at the age of 10), and a small firecracker of a toy Poodle named Blue (Blue Ridge Diamond in the Ruff CD BN GN RE CGCA) who is her competition partner and perpetual shadow. When not involved in all things dog, Dr. Burrowes also loves cooking and gardening (which has resulted in a legendary recipe for zucchini bread!).
